SAG May be Near Video Game Deal

S AG_0820 According to Variety, the Screen Actor's Guild is nearing a deal on a new contract for video games. The trade quotes Scott Witlin, a negotiator for the vid-game publishers as saying, "The negotiations have been professional and productive." According to the report, the previous contract expired at the end of last year—something the guild had never admitted publicly—and negotiations for a new contract did not begin until a few months ago.

If a deal is reached, the new contract would come on the heels of the recently announced cable- and broadcast-animation contract. Ballots for member ratification of a proposed live-action cable contract are due Aug. 26.
