Comic-Con May Leave San Diego Birthplace

0222_ComicCon The ever popular Comic-Con International, held annually every July, may be leaving its home in San Diego for a bigger location. After 2012, the event will have free range to leave town. Departing with the convention would be 126,000 attendees, who fill hotel rooms and restaurants alike. The San Diego Convention Center is eager to continue holding the event and has sent a proposal to extend their contract through 2015. A competing bid has been sent from the city of Anaheim, whose convention center is about 500,000 square feet larger than San Diego’s and can better house the expected number of attendees.
