Eastwood, Moreno Given Medals of the Arts

0226_moreno Actors Clint Eastwood and Rita Moreno were among National Medal of the Arts recipients honored yesterday at a ceremony in the East Room of the White House. Eastwood and fellow honoree Bob Dylan were not on hand to receive their awards, issued by President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Other recipients included artist and architect Maya Lin; singer Jessye Norman; artist Frank Stella; conductor Michael Tilson Thomas; composer John Williams; Charleston, S.C. Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr.; the Oberlin Conservatory of Music; and the School of American Ballet.
