Grimaldi Literary awards have been granted to works on choreographer and director Kenneth MacMillan and iconic clown Joseph Grimaldi. Britain’s Society for Theatre Research administrated the 13th annual presentation of the awards. Penned by dance critic Jann Parry, the first book was awarded the Theatre Book Prize and is entitled, “Different Drummer: The Life of Kenneth MacMillan.” The second, which won the Sheridan Morley Prize for Theatre Biography, went to “The Pantomime Life of Joseph Grimaldi,” written by Andrew McConnell Stott. Awards were held on April 27 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Actress and author Sheila Hancock presented the awards to the recipients.
