Theatre World Awards Winners; CUNY to Honor Kushner

• The winners of the 67th Annual Theatre World Awards, which recognize performers making their New York stage debuts on or Off-Broadway, were announced today. Check it out at Playbill.

• In a 20-minute meeting last night, CUNY trustees approved an honorary degree for playwright Tony Kushner, reversing a previous decision to leave his name off the list of candidates to receive the honor next month. The university had received criticism for its earlier vote, which came as a result of qualms regarding Kushner's opinions on the State of Israel. The New York Times has the details.
