Emmy Ratings Steady; 'Lion King' Reigns Again

EmmyDeadline reported that the ratings for the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were around the same as those of the last three years. It would be ironic though if the Emmys were ever cancelled due to low ratings. That would also never happen.

• The 1994 Disney hit "The Lion King" returned to theaters this past weekend in 3D and opened with $29.3 million. Its success may mean more re-releases of older films, according to The Wrap.

• Speaking of 3D, Slate offers for theories as to the murderer of 3D. Unfortunately, none involve Colonel Mustard in a library with a candlestick.

• Simon Cowell reportedly hopes to create a stage show around his reality show "X Factor," said Deadline. "American Idol" creator Simon Fuller, and Cowell's rival for greatest Simon ever, will begin workshops for his musical "Viva Forever," which is based on the songs of the Spice Girls. Check it out at Deadline.
