HarperCollins Buys Film Books Publisher

Pop culture will soon have two new BFFs. HarperCollins Publishers, known for its entertainment series “It Books,” bought the rights to Newmarket Press, an independent publisher of film-related books, reported The Hollywood Reporter

Not only will HarperCollins have access to a majority of the titles published by Newmarket, but also its founder and publisher, Esther Margolis, will also be joining the HarperCollins entertainment division. Newmarket's Shooting Script sreies, which has published the screenplays for movies like "The King's Speech" and "Juno," and illustrated movie tie-in books are hot commodities for cinephiles, film professionals and casual filmgoers alike. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the purchase of the Newmarket Press will aid HarperCollins in increasing its entertainment offerings .
