Finding More Casting & Job Notices on BackStage.com

BackStage.com features all of the casting notices from Back Stage's weekly print-edition newspapers and digital magazines, plus hundreds of additional notices from across the world, especially in the U.S. However, if you’re not seeing as many notices online as you’re expecting to see then you may need to broaden your search a bit.

Four casting search tips to always remember:

1. If you’re a union member, then you’ll want to at least search the Union casting/job categories AND the Union/Nonunion categories, in addition to any of the not-union-specific categories that may be of interest to you. (The Union/Nonunion categories on Back Stage contain casting notices calling for both union and nonunion performers, while the Union categories are primarily for union-only calls and the Nonunion categories are primarily for nonunion-only calls.)


2. If you’re a not a union member, then you’ll want to at least search the Nonunion casting/job categories AND the Union/Nonunion categories, in addition to any of the not-union-specific categories that may be of interest to you.


3. Avoid the use of Keywords unless you’re looking for a casting/job notice that contains a very specific word or phrase. Instead, leave the Keywords field blank and use the Job Category search filters, Advanced Search filters (age ranges, gender, etc.), and Location filters to narrow your search down to fit your needs without narrowing the search down to only specific words.
   


4. The more Categories and Locations you choose, the more search results you’ll see.
