2010- I'm a Hustla Homie
As we say goodbye to the first decade of the 2000's I can't help but to think of how fast time really does fly. 10 years ago I was still in high school and just KNEW that I would "make it" by the time I turned 25. Now here I am on the brink of 2010, married with a precious family and though I still know I'm gonna make it there's no longer a timetable or deadline for me to meet. 2009 wasn't a horrible year for me by any means, but it also wasn't a golden one so I'm happy to bid it farewell.
With a new year comes new goals, new hopes, new dreams and new resolve. This time around I've created my Top 10 Goals & Action Plan rather than resolutions and I can't wait to get started. I'm very much into themes {it's the wedding planner in me} and have coined 2010 as "The Year of the Hustle." I don't really like the term "struggling actor" as I'm a firm believer that your words have power but I do consider myself a Hustler as it relates to this business. Some of the definitions for hustle that I plan to embody this year include:
- to proceed or work rapidly or energetically
- to push or force one's way
- to be aggressive, esp. in business or other financial dealings
- to pressure or coerce (a person) to buy or do something
- to urge, prod, or speed up
- to obtain by aggressive means
- to sell aggressively
- to promote or publicize in a lively, vigorous, or aggressive manner
To help me stay in hustle mode I've created a vision board with words & images that speak to what I want 2010 to bring to me. Here it is:
And since we're capping off the year, I might as well leave you with some music that could easily be the soundtrack to this post:
May you all ring in the new year safe & sound. See you in 2010!
